ESENET is an Ethernet gateway specifically designed to interface Woodward's Easygen series genset controls with Modbus/TCP networks. It interfaces via the load sharing CAN bus with the Woodward controls.

The ESENET offers cost savings compared to traditional Modbus/TCP to RTU gateways as no separate RS-485 wiring is required. In addition the ESENET takes advantage of the multi-master capability and fast transmission speed of CAN to offer short Modbus/TCP poll cycles as well as concurrent access. Both cannot be achieved using conventional serial Modbus half-duplex data transfers.

A single ESENET added to the CAN network will make all Visualisation Data of connected Woodward CANopen controls available without adding additional load to the CAN bus communication. In addition concurrent and fast read and write access to device Parameter IDs is possible utilising parallel CANopen SDO transfers.

Usage and configuration of the gateway is simple and conveniently performed using a web browser which connects to the embedded web server.

The GCP-MG gateway has been developed in cooperation with Woodward to ensure the highest possible degree of interoperability with Woodward equipment.

The SERIP-100 acts as an interface converter and connects a serial device to Ethernet. It support a variety of different operating modes and can act as client and server.

    The gateway netTAP 151 transmits IO data bidirectionally between any two industrial Real-Time Ethernet networks. It is the ideal solution for installations with heterogeneous networks or such of the same kind to exchange data across given network boundaries. With more than 25 different combinations of the protocols PROFINET, EtherCAT, EtherNet/IP, POWERLINK, Sercos and Modbus TCP, the device series provides a solution for any conversion.

    The integration as simple I/O device into the primary network makes the converter compatible with any common PLC. On the secondary side it works either as I/O device too or controls a subordinate network as a bus master. The length of the I/O data can be scaled to any application and the data in between can be mapped on byte level arbitrarily. 

    Secure network separation is provided by two Ethernet controllers, each connected to a Dual Ethernet port with integrated switch. That allows realizing star, ring and inline network topologies without further peripherals. Both controllers handle the protocols independent from each other and exchange only the I/O data across a data buffer. An overall data processing time lower than 10 milliseconds is achieved.

    The devices can be ordered preloaded with fi rmware and license or unloaded. Unloaded devices minimize the storage costs. Subsequent loading of a fi rmware confi gures these devices for any conversion most fl exible. All devices are commissioned and diagnosed network independent over USB.
